Together with the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, Folklorama is pleased to present the Mark & Dorothy Danzker Scholarship for Excellence, an annual award of excellence for the preservation of ethno-cultural heritage.
This scholarship acknowledges students who demonstrate an active involvement in preserving their ethno-cultural heritage through volunteer work, employment or contributions to a cultural activity within Manitoba. Five post-secondary scholarships of $1,000 each and one post-graduate scholarship of $2,500 will be awarded to students between the ages of 17 and 25 who are enrolled at or have been accepted to a post-secondary school in Canada.
We would like to make this opportunity known to as many students as possible and would appreciate it if you could share this information on your school website or pass along to staff who can facilitate circulating this opportunity to the student body.

The application deadline is April 30, 2018.
Since 1970, Folklorama has been promoting the ethno-cultural diversity of Manitoba by providing opportunities for ethno-cultural communities to preserve and celebrate their intangible culture through public events, educational programming, and the annual Folklorama Festival. Throughout the year, Folklorama is sustained by three business divisions: Folklorama Talent, Folklorama Travel, and Folklorama Teachings.
Folklorama Teachings enables the excitement of Folklorama to extend to classrooms – from daycares to post-secondary settings. Through workshops and performances, ethno-cultural entertainers bring participants on unique cultural adventures while sharing important lessons about diversity.
